Call of Duty Ghosts Multiplayer Review

A 2013 Call of Duty game, Ghosts was developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision.

Ghosts multiplayer mode differs from other Call of Duty games in the way you prestige. Most Call of Duty games you prestige by getting to the highest level you can get, then you have the option to reset everything or continue on without leveling up any more. In Call of Duty Ghosts you choose a character and level up until you can unlock a new character and start again. For some reason I did not enjoy this leveling up much. Kill confirmed was my favorite game mode where you shoot a player then collect their dog tag for extra points. Most of the games are in team deathmatch but not many people play any more. The only game mode you will be able to play today is team deathmatch if you are lucky otherwise you just get the dialog "no games found". The maps are good and so are the graphics. Some maps are really good for shotguns, especially the Strikezone map mode. Other maps are more open and ideal for snipers. The points system is the same as other COD games. One difference is that instead of unlocking a UAV when your kill streak reaches a certain level, you unlock a dog which roams around nearby and takes out enemy players for you. All the weapons are much the same as previous games.

There was a separate offshoot game type called squads. This can be played alone, with friends and other players. I was only able to play this alone as there was no one else playing this game type. You form two squads of characters. I was playing alone so I was against bots. The squad you choose plays other squads and their points are tallied as you win matches.

All in all it was a good robust multiplayer game and I enjoyed it while the players were there but the lack of online players has affected the overall appeal of the game. More people play Modern Warfare 2 and Black OPS 2 than they play this.

I give it 6.9/10
