Team Fortress 2 Review

Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer first-person shooter made by Valve in 2007. Players form two teams and fight it out in a range of missions and maps. There are nine characters to choose from each with their own attributes. The characters are as follows: Engineer, Spy, Soldier, Heavy, Pyro, Medic, Demoman, Scout and Sniper. It depends on how you want to play as to which character you choose. For example, If you like to stand and shoot you would choose the heavy. If you like to pick them off at a distance you would choose the sniper. The scout can run fast and the medic can heal other players in your team.

There are different game modes to choose from. Including capture the flag, control point, king of the hill, payload and a new one called Mann vs Machine.

This game is almost ten years old but a lot of people still play. You have a limited amount of health. When your health runs out you respawn depending on the game mode. Ammo and health can also be collected at various locations around the map. The character you choose depends on the weapons available. For example the heavy has a rail gun and shot gun. The engineer has a grenade launcher and the soldier has a rocket launcher. Each character has at least two weapons to choose from.

The game is a bit outdated in the graphics department but there is still fun to be had in the game play. You level up as you win and score points. Back when it was released it won high praise and I think it was quite an original first-person shooter. The style of the game is quite cartoon like and the voice over presentation is also well done like when it says "your control point is being captured". I had the most fun in this game with the heavy as they are the hardest to kill. With a medic healing him to uber health they are almost unstoppable.

I give it 7/10
